ECS-SIP Online Help
ECS-SIP is a feature rich application for use with the ECS VoIP Service. This Page runs through the features of the main 2 screens then, how to accomplish some of the most common calling tasks when using the this application.
The ECS-SIP Main Window
- Screen tabs: To change main screen from Phone, Logs, and Contacts screens
- Menu Button: To get to the settings menu / Change phone profiles / Enable & disable Always on top mode
- Number to dial: Added by using the buttons or typing the number in
- Number pad: Use these to enter the number to dial
- Call Button: Starts a call to the selected number, or produces a dial tone for you to start dialling
- Mute buttons: Top button mutes your audio (but receiving end can hear you), bottom button mutes your Mic
- Additional Action buttons:
- Do Not Disturb: You will not get calls when a hunt group is called
- Auto Conference: Any numbers you dial will automatically be conferenced together
- Auto Answer: Incoming calls will auto-answer
- Conference: Manually conference the current call with another held call
- Record: Record the current call
The ECS-SIP Second Window
This window represents the window when one or more calls are in progress
- Number Called: (One tab for each call)
- Hold button: Puts the current call on Hold
- Transfer button: Transfers the call (Blind or Attended)
- Conference Button: Conferences calls together or remove the number from a conference call
- End Call: End the current call

When you decide you need to blind transfer a call do the following
- Click the Transfer button the 2nd screen
- a submenu will appear, here click the “Call Transfer” Option
- At this point a window will appear like this:
Then type the extention to transfer to, and click OK
- Call should now be transferred to the new Number
If you need to do an attended transfer, please do the following
- Put the current call on hold by clicking the relevant tab on the 2nd screen then clicking the hold/pause button
- Go to the Main Screen and establish a call in the usual way to the tranferee
- In the second screen, on the tranferee’s tab Click Transfer > Attended Transfer > Then the name / number of the original caller, as shown in the screenshot below
- Call should now be transferred
ECS-SIP has the ability to perform conference calls between 2 or more people, it can also separate callers from a conference and disconnect them giving you the ability to manage your callers effectively

To start a conference with an existing call or add a caller to a conference Please do the following
- Put the current call on hold by pressing the pause/hold button on the 2nd window
- On the main window establish another call in the usual way to the number to be added
- When the call is in progress, On the 2nd window click the Conference > Merge > Conference Or Conference > Merge All

Alternatively if you are in a call already and want to conference in another party you can do the following:
- On the tab for the current call on the 2nd Window, Click the conference button then “Invite to Conference”
- A dialing window will appear
- Dial the number and click OK
- As soon as the callee answers they will be added to he conference
When you are in a conference you can remove attendee’s in 2 ways, you can separate or disconnect the number. Separating means the number is still active on a call but no longer in the conference, Disconnecting, as the name suggests, hungs up on that participant.
To do this, Please do the following
- Click the tab partaining to the participant you would like to separate/Disconnect
- Click The conference button, then click either Separate, Separate All, or Disconnect, as shown below
ECS-Sip Has the functionality to hold as many contacts as are needed, to add a contact to the list do the following
- Click the Contacts tab at the top of the screen
- Right-click on a blank area of the contacts window to get a submenu
- Click Add to get the Add contact window
- Add the Name, Number, and any other relevant information then click OK when done.
The sequence for editing a contact is very similar to that of creating one
- Click the Contacts tab at the top of the screen
- Right-click on the contact you wish to edit to get a submenu
- Click the Edit option, to get the edit contact window
- Edit the contact information as desired, then click OK to finish
To Delete a contact please do the following
- Click the Contacts tab at the top of the screen
- Right-click on the contact you wish to delete to get a submenu
- Click the Delete option and you will see a confirmation Window
- Click Yes and the Contact will be deleted
There are 3 ways to call a contact from ECS-SIP, these are :
- Method 1 – Using Second Screen
- From the Contacts tab on the Main screen, double-click the contact to open it on the 2nd Window
- Click Call at the top left
- Method 2 – Call direct from Contacts
- On the Contacts tab, Right-click the contact to call
- Click Call
- On the Contacts tab, Right-click the contact to call
- Method 3 – Copy number to main window
- On the Contacts tab, Right-click the contact to call
- Click Copy
- Click the Phone tab at the top
- Right-click the number to dial box, then click paste
- Click the Call button
- On the Contacts tab, Right-click the contact to call
